Who is behind the Post

The Uncanny Post is operated by Uncanny Post Press, LLC, an Indiana company founded by Dave Giltner. We are building a place for personal writing, thoughtful interpretation and discussion. Our public guides are available without an account; free account registration is open, and beta participation is optional.

The dream comes before the interpretation

A remembered scene does not need to be polished or complete. Save what you recall, mark uncertain details, and keep later reflections separate. A suggested reading should respond to the actions, relationships and feelings in the account—not quietly add a different story.

You can leave a dream uninterpreted. Choosing not to share, answer a question or agree with a reading is part of using the product.

What you can explore

Use the journal to preserve entries and revisit them. The dictionary offers related concepts and clearly labeled editorial guides. Optional questions can help you consider a reading in context. Creative tools and soundscapes offer other ways to spend time with an entry.

  • Write and return: capture a fragment, add later memories and keep an export.
  • Read and question: compare a proposal with the details you actually remember.
  • Create: add your own creative response to a private entry.

How AI and sources fit together

AI supports interpretation and the preparation of editorial material. It can make mistakes, overstate a connection or produce a convincing explanation that does not fit. A citation is useful only when it supports the specific claim being made.

Our blog identifies AI assistance and distinguishes original worked examples from research findings. We do not imply that an AI byline is a qualified clinician, a human review panel or an independent scientific endorsement.

Privacy and participation

Journal entries are private. Community features are not open to members yet. The Privacy page explains data handling and your controls.

Help shape the next version

Specific criticism is useful: tell us what you wanted to do, where you got stuck and what would have helped. Sample dreams are welcome for testing. You do not need to disclose private writing or provide a favorable review.
