Scope and operator

These Terms govern use of The Uncanny Post, operated by Uncanny Post Press, LLC. By using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you participate in the beta contribution program, the Beta Participation Agreement also applies and controls any conflict about beta participation, testing credit or earned benefits. The Privacy Policy explains how we process information; optional consent choices are separate from acceptance of these Terms.

Eligibility and your account

The account and community services are intended for adults aged 18 or older who can enter this agreement. Provide accurate account information, keep access credentials private, and use your own account. Email verification and an invitation or applicable entitlement may be required for member features. Do not misrepresent another person or bypass access restrictions. Contact support if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

Reflection, not professional advice

Dream readings, dictionary material, journal prompts and sounds support personal reflection, learning and general enjoyment. They do not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, predict events, establish facts about other people, or provide medical, mental-health, legal, financial or other professional advice. Automated output can be incomplete or mistaken. Review the original account and the supporting material, and decide whether a suggestion fits your experience. The service and its support channels are not emergency services.

Beta access and charges

The current beta is invitation based. Applying does not guarantee admission. Joining the beta contribution program requires the separate activation and agreement described in Tester Studio. Beta participation does not create a paid subscription and does not require a payment card. Any future paid purchase must present its price and applicable billing, cancellation and refund terms before you authorize it. These Terms do not enroll you in a future paid plan or change an earned Founding Member benefit.

Paid membership and cancellation

When enrollment is available, standard membership costs $7.99 USD per month or $59.99 USD per year, as selected and shown before purchase. Payment is collected by Stripe. Your selected plan renews automatically at that interval until you cancel. You must explicitly authorize the purchase; free, team, beta, granted and earned membership access does not automatically become a paid subscription. Full paid access starts after payment is confirmed. You can view invoices, update payment details and cancel renewal in Account → Membership & billing → Manage billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period. Your private journal remains available after membership ends, subject to account standing. Failed or disputed payments and a full refund of the current paid period can suspend paid features. Contact help.me@uncannypost.com with billing or refund requests. Any mandatory cancellation or refund rights under applicable law remain in effect.

Your content and permissions

You retain your rights in the writing, images and other content you provide. You give us a nonexclusive permission to host, process, reproduce and display that content as needed to provide the features you request, maintain the service and apply these Terms. For private content, that permission does not make it a public post. Publishing a community post authorizes display to the audience you select, subject to moderation access. This permission does not automatically authorize research participation, model training, marketing use or publication in the public Corpus. Those uses follow the Privacy Policy and any separate choices required for them.

Only upload or share content you have the right to use. Respect other people's privacy and remove identifying details when appropriate. Other participants may retain copies of posts you share; changes to the private journal do not update an already published copy. Exported copies are under your control.

Feedback and honest reviews

You may submit corrections, bug reports and product ideas. For feedback you deliberately submit, you grant a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce and adapt that feedback to operate and improve the product. This does not transfer ownership of your reviews or treat private journal entries as submitted feedback. Honest criticism, good-faith testing, lawful reports to authorities and protected disclosures are permitted. Nothing requires a favorable review or disclosure of private dreams.

Community and acceptable use

Follow the Guidelines and respect the discussion preference set by a post's author. Do not harass, threaten, defraud, impersonate, disclose someone else's private information, infringe rights, encourage violence or self-harm, or distribute illegal or exploitative material. Do not diagnose other members or present an interpretation as proof of their motives, health, identity or future. Do not introduce malware, evade security controls or restrictions, overload the service, automate abusive use, or falsify testing records. Lawful personal writing about difficult experiences is distinct from threatening or encouraging real harm.

Moderation and access restrictions

We may investigate reports, hide or remove content, limit features, or suspend or end access for material violations, fraud, security threats, legal requirements or operational necessity. We aim to make restrictions proportionate and, where feasible, explain the reason and provide an opportunity to remedy or appeal. Immediate action may be needed to protect people or systems. Use Account notices when an appeal control is available, or contact support. Removal from the beta program alone does not delete your journal or create a charge; the Beta Participation Agreement describes retained account access.

Our materials and third-party works

The service contains site materials and third-party software, recordings, artwork and reference data. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the service or its branding. Third-party materials remain subject to their own licenses, linked in Licenses and the relevant credits. Nothing here reduces rights granted to you by an applicable open license. Attribution does not imply the creator endorses this service. Do not use our name or branding to suggest a partnership or endorsement without permission.

Availability and your copies

To the extent permitted by law, the beta is provided as available and as is. Features may change, fail or be temporarily unavailable; we do not promise uninterrupted availability or a particular interpretive result. Use the available export tools to retain copies of important writing. Browser recovery is a convenience, not a backup. You may stop using the service and use the available account-deletion controls; the Privacy Policy explains the scope and limits of deletion.

Beta limitations and liability

Beta features are provided as available and as is, to the extent permitted by law. Features may change or fail; use the available export tools to keep copies. Dream interpretations and sleep content are for reflection and general enjoyment, not medical, mental-health or other professional advice. To the extent permitted by law, the company's aggregate liability arising from this agreement or the beta is limited to the greater of US $100 or the fees you paid us during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. To that same extent, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages or lost business profits. These limits do not exclude nonwaivable consumer rights, liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. The exclusion does not make all direct journal-data loss automatically excluded.

Claims and resolving disagreements

To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify the company for third-party claims and reasonable costs directly caused by your unlawful content, infringement of others' rights or intentional misuse. This does not cover our wrongdoing or ordinary good-faith testing. We will promptly notify you, allow reasonable participation in the defense and seek your consent, not unreasonably withheld, before any settlement imposing obligations or an admission on you. Contact help.me@uncannypost.com first so we can attempt to resolve disputes within 30 days. This does not delay urgent relief, small-claims proceedings, regulator complaints or filing deadlines. Indiana law and courts with appropriate jurisdiction in Indiana apply, except where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise. This agreement imposes no mandatory arbitration or class-action waiver.

Changes and general provisions

We may change the service and prospective terms for legitimate operational, legal or security reasons. We will give at least 30 days' notice of material changes where feasible and obtain renewed acceptance where required. Urgent protective changes may take effect immediately, with notice as soon as reasonably possible. Changes do not retroactively remove earned beta benefits or completed credit. If we discontinue the service, we will provide at least 30 days' notice and an export opportunity where feasible. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains effective to the extent lawful. A business transfer remains subject to applicable obligations and mandatory law.
